A message from the “Network for New Culture”
Dear friends,
For a year now, in Oakland, we have enjoyed so many wonderful folks gathering together for our communal heart-opening evenings!
Now, for the first time, we are hosting an NFNC Open House celebrating Network For New Culture in Marin on Friday evening, December 4th, at a private home in San Rafael; AND in San Francisco on Tuesday, December 8th, also in a private residence in the Potrero district.
Finally after much encouragement, support and suggestion, we’re branching out!
Please join us for another year’s worth of fun evenings, gathering together and connecting through the exploration of conscious human relationship and personal transformation within the context of Community.
This month we are considering the ever popular 7-Minute Connections exercise, and of course, the ZEGG Forum check-ins we do every month. We are always open to folks taking portions of the evening to offer experiential exercises which light them up to share with the group.
Two dates and two locations:
Friday, December 4th
San Rafael and Tuesday, December 8th
San Francisco’s Potrero district
Potluck from 6:00 – 7:15pm
Gathering starts promptly at 7:30,
and we’re usually done by 9:30pm
Donations are greatly appreciated!
RSVP for address and directions to our locations.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
-Keith & Lenel

The intention for these evening gatherings is to share information and experiential exercises that will give you some understanding about Network for New Culture (NFNC); which is a North American group originally inspired by the long established German intentional community ZEGG (acronym for German words meaning “Center for Experimental Social Design”).
The purpose of the NFNC is to contribute to creating a world without fear and violence by promoting self-awareness and empowerment. We believe that once individuals become aware of who they are and what their genuine desires are, they’ll be inspired to act in a multitude of ways that make the world a better place.
Through this dedication of creating a New Culture based in a supportive and loving community, we invite you to co-create with us a safe and nurturing environment where we will have the opportunity to deepen our self-knowledge while creatively exploring ideas of love and community.
We also believe that these goals are most effectively carried out in the context of supportive community, so one of our primary purposes for the events of NFNC is to create this community as a vehicle for social change, and to serve as a model for participants to emulate.
The Mission Statement:
Co-creating the transformation of our culture into universal love in the deepest sense.
By universal love we mean deep intimacy, transparency, honesty, spirituality,
genuine compassion, and sexual freedom through community.
New Culture is a way of looking at every aspect of what makes a deep, satisfying, energized, and delicious human life, and how we can create a sustainable world based on love, freedom, and community. It’s not just another “answer”; there are no gurus, no dogma, and no “one-size-fits-all” solutions. Instead, New Culture brings together insights and practices from many spiritual, political, sensual, and psychological realms that we explore, try out, and modify, so that we can safely and powerfully explore new ways of living and loving. The heart of New Culture is an expanding community of fellow explorers who realize that good questions are more important than fixed answers.
This evening is the first of a series, ie. monthly, of open house introductions to New Culture and how it has expanded to current incarnations, to intimacy-building exercises, and to share time to just hang out and connect. This is a great opportunity for new folks to learn through experiential exploration about Network for a New Culture (http://www.facebook.com/l/c326a;www.nfnc.org), plus a chance to make new friends and strengthen old connections. It’s also a great chance to learn more about our annual New Culture Summer Camps — you can see last year’s announcement at http://www.facebook.com/l/c326a;www.nfnc.org/sc/
People are welcome to arrive any time after 6 PM. We’ll start with a one-hour potluck from 6 to 7:15 PM — you are welcome to bring a dish to feed yourself and 4-5 others, or simply bring your own complete dinner plus a little extra to share.
The evening’s workshop will start promptly at 7:30 PM with a full couple of hours of activities planned, and then folks are welcome to hang out awhile. No alcohol or recreational drugs, please.
You can send your RSVP via e-mail to keithb@nfnc.org, and we’ll send you a confirmation of the location with address & directions If you would like to call with any questions, please contact Keith & Lenel at (510) 681-8206 and/or (415) 609-9469
We are very excited about our expansion, and sharing this evening with you at the New Culture Open House!
Feel free to forward this announcement to friends who might be interested. Also, drop us a line if you want to be on our announcement list for other New Culture events in the SF Bay area!
Warmly,
Lenel & Keith

I unload thoughts into it like a dump truck
thoughts continuously riling themselves up
I unload like a rocketship seperating from yesterdays rocket
all the notions of a better day which my mind is seeking like a wild dog chases a cat
I unload like a stock broker jumping off a bridge to my death
witnessed by the failure of measuring my life by that which is out side of me

How can you change the world with your music? This question calls for an answer that spans many levels of our expression, so lets dig right in.

This article has been a hot topic on the coactive coaching network forum, so I am going to share with you a recent manifestation of it.
Is the universe inherently playful?
If it is, then I am taking myself far too seriously.
If the universe is inherently playful, then I would look at my life differently. Would it change your perspective on your life?

“yoga actually teaches you… to take responsibility for your life, because yoga teaches that everything in your life is coming from you… and that instead of those things being problems, they can be opportunities.”
Practice for integrating this:
List the 5 things that you consider to be the most significant problems in your life in this moment. For each one, name one opportunity within it.

Pema Chodron:
“If you don’t first see where you are hookable, and where you get stuck, with complete honesty, then you are always going to have that blind spot to bring you down. So if you really want freedom, you need people around to provoke you to show you where you still have work to do”
Jonathan Haber:
Given this, being triggered in a relationship, even deeply triggered, can be seen actually as a powerful ally in our journey towards freedom.
What this means is that for the spiritual warrior who takes full responsibility for his or her emotional responses to their partner, the difficult moments can be seen as our allies.
Add to this Byron Katie’s basic premise that “our judgments of another are actually judgments of ourselves,” we can start to see that even when we feel judgmental of our partners, we have room to appreciate them, because we can use these judgments we have to look inside and see what parts of ourselves are wanting attention and/or healing.
Contrast this to an unconscious lover…

Ritual is a vehicle for cultivating our relationship with the non-physical.
The purpose of this ritual is to provide an opening or closing to an experience, such as a journey with friends, or a workshop dedicated to learning anything related to the numinescent… to spirit, cultivating intuition, learning yoga, or whatever.

“I take to myself, my broken self,
my folly and my pain, my light and my dark,
every aspect of self that I can imagine and that which I cannot
and I am made whole”
I am calling this a game because we get to decide which metaphors we use in our interpretations of life, and because I want to invite all of us to be light and playful in our training, opening, and healing.

Ok,
As promised, this is an introduction to another tool that has helped me in the process of manifestation.
This post is for anyone who is interested in calling forth something new, and anyone who is wondering about what it takes to evoke a mindset that shifts the realization of our goals out of the “striving” world and into the “effortless creation” world.
